hey i assume you're an expert and i was just wondering if you could shed some light on the issue at hand, i've been trying to dye my hair purple and i went to a salon and this woman totally fucked up my hair! had to strip it of it's natural color and re-dye it to some nastybrown weird not my natural light/mousey/kinda carmel brown hair. sooo i've done every color in the book after that and i really wanna go for purple, can you help a girl out?

Sorry to hear about your bad experience! Sounds like your hair could do with a bit of a rest!

To get a bright purple, you’d need a light base colour - which would mean bleaching your hair. I wouldn’t recommend that right now as you’ve had the colour stripped already and your hair won’t be as strong as it could be.

There are many dyes that give a nice purple tone that shows up brighter in the light. For example, LIVE XXL Foam in Violet Berry is a beautiful purple colour. LIVE Luminance in Ultra Violet is also quite bright. L’Oreal Paris have some good purpley colours, as do Feria.

Manic Panic’s Purple Haze gives a very purple colour but this would need to go over light hair, so this will depend on what your colour is at the moment.

Hope this helps a bit! :) xx
